Another enjoyable outing by the prolific Stephen King, If It Bleeds is an enjoyable collection of four novellas that are as intriguing and mesmerizing as any of his longer works.  The title comes from the third story, which brings us back to the world of the Mr. Mercedes series and The Outsider with the character Holly Gibney.

The other three stories—“Mr. Harrigan’s Phone,” “The Life of Chuck,” and “Rat”—are excellent pieces of fiction from King, who spins chilling and thought-provoking tales with them.

I also highly recommend reading King’s “Author’s Note” at the end of the book.  It is an interesting and educational writing piece that writers can learn from.

Like King’s books, I highly recommend If It Bleeds.
