IAN: Hi.  Ian Dawson here.  Over the past two weeks, we’ve covered a lot of material about main characters.  We’ve discussed the traits and characteristics of the story’s protagonist, the importance of this character being active and having a clear goal, and how they drive a story forward.

We’ve also examined the traditional three-act story structure, using Disney’s Aladdin as an example of how character and plot are intertwined.

This next week, it’s time for you to start thinking about developing the protagonist for your story.  We’ll cover ways to craft and create this vital character, and I’ll provide practical writing exercises to assist you in your work.

It’s been quite the journey so far, and there’s plenty more to come.  I hope you’ll continue to join me for more Main Character May!

See you soon!Check out the posts from this past week by clicking the links below the transcript for this audio blog.
